Under the 1997 land law, land in Mozambique is still owned by the state, and cannot be bought or sold. However, the law does recognize the rights of people, companies or communities to use the land and sell assets on it. The fact that the land may not be used as a form of security to potential financiers has often been noted as an impediment to the development of the farming and cattle-raising sectors.
Sensitive of complexity of land legislation experienced by foreign investors in Mozambique, we offer, among others, the services as follows: obtaining and confirming the validity of titles for the use and benefit of land, sale and purchase of assets, transfers of improvements, land registrations and mortgages.
